The Rebels Need You!
This September, Limbik are staging extraordinary large-scale community theatre performance in Norwich!
We all have stories of rebellion. Bernard, Hazel and Sylvia are no different. All three join an outdoor audio tour exploring the history of Kett’s Rebellion. The tour follows a trail across Mousehold Heath, the site of Kett’s rebel camp in 1549. But for these three very different people, the unfolding story of local peasants defending their right to common land unearths memories of their own acts of rebellion, of the moments they too chose to take a stand…
We want you to take part in this outdoor extravaganza! We are looking for people to play the rebels, who appear as masked characters in the woods. All the roles perform to an audio soundtrack as the audience listens along. Sometimes, the rebels remove their masks and speak directly to the audience.
Performance opportunities within the final production will be partly shaped to skills and availability of individuals involved and the development of the community ensemble as a whole. Unavailability to take part in all or any of the workshops need not preclude involvement in Rebel Rabble! (If you wish to discuss this you can chat to us by contacting ben@limbiktheatre.com).
